Sakuraya is a famous local unagi (eel) restaurant and has appeared in several guidebooks.
The restaurant has a long common history with the city of Matsumoto. Sakuraya’s founder, originally from Toyama Prefecture, began serving sushi and other Japanese dishes in Matsumoto as early as 1920.Specialties: Boiled eel wrapped in a bamboo leaf
