Taiyaki is a fish-shaped pancake filled with bean jam. Nostalgic stores and houses stand on the car-free Nawate street. In the center of Nawate street, Taiyaki FURUSATO is open next to the Frog Daimyojin (the temple where the deity is enshrined).
Taiyaki is baked with fish-shaped molds. The most popular taiyaki fillings are anko (bean jam), and custard cream. Which Taiyaki is popular among guests from other countries?
Some kids living close to FURUSATO love taiyaki with sausage (150 yen). Mr. & Mrs. Yamamoto have enjoyed watching the children grow up over the years and accompanying their mothers since they were very young. In fact, this Taiyaki with sausage was introduced by the Taiwanese media, so guests from Taiwan always buy it. Foreigners in Hakuba have been introduced to this taiyaki and have made it popular there.There are many other forms of taiyaki like seasonal taiyaki flavors with ice cream (200 yen), and ice cream Zenzai (Sweet bean soup with ice cream) (300 yen).
